Local Robot partnered with the Downtown Providence Park Network to create a 3D providence map that runs entirely in the browser. As part of the "You Belong Here" wayfinding campaign, we connected 200 colorful street banners to the map by giving each a unique QR code. Each scan opens a page that explains the artwork and the banner's history.
The application also works as a standalone city guide with more than 500 attractions, a live events calendar, and real-time weather all built on a custom Mapbox basemap. On mobile, the map is a great way to find “events and attractions near me”. The interface loads fast and requires no download, so residents and visitors can use it on the spot.
